Summary:

Vegas 2047 is the first land-based casino game that combines both high limit gambling while giving the advanced player the opportunity for large denomination positive expectation bets. The desire for a “positive EV” gambling experience is the “golden chalice” of the experienced gambler.

High limit games, such as Baccarat have become very popular. Similarly, positive EV video products such as “full pay deuces wild” a variant of video poker also exist to give players a positive EV experience.

There are limitations for both of these games, however. In the case of Baccarat, individuals who understand casino math will explain that they “don’t play negative expectation games.” These players typically will play poker or they might count cards while playing blackjack. The players who enjoy Baccarat, in general, are generally not savvy in math and make bets based on superstition and flawed by gambler’s fallacy. Elements present in specific cultures, but missing from other cultures that prevent this game from being as successful among a broader demographic of players.

But, in general, aside from random opportunities to exploit positive expectation, there is no outlet for high limit video gambling with positive EV gambling opportunities; no such games exist allowing players to make large bets on a class-III gaming device. Generally speak, in any given high limit slot machine room, you simply have the same games as the regular slot floor with higher bet denominations, and sometimes set for a lower house edge offering a better chance to win.

Satisfying the player without exposing the casino:

Vegas 2047 offers advantage plays to experienced players while still offering minimum paybacks according to local legislation. The desired house advantage can be set for two bet denominations. A lower denomination and a higher denomination. At or below the lower denomination, a (typically) larger house edge allows the game to be played for less money while still affording the house to cover the overhead of operating the machine. And at the higher denomination, a lower edge can be used to offer the gambler a lower house edge in return for a larger bet denomination. In between these two denominations, a linearly blended house edge offers the player incremental incentive to bet more money in order to get a lower average cost per game.

In addition to this, the game offers additional EV for the resolution of the bet with each point scored. This is accomplished by storing previous scores and bet amounts in order to balance the relationship with the score that is achieved with the house edge that is appropriate for that score level. The EV is displayed in the game as the player is scoring, they can easily see that their average return is going up as they score up until they have lost their last ball in the game.

Resolving the bet:

The resolution of the bet is performed with winning and losing pie slices displayed on a spinning wheel noted by a pointer that shows whether you won or lost. The winning slices will be bigger the more you scored in the game, but the resolution of each of the bets is entirely independent of the skill in the game and is based purely on a random number generator. Players invariably will attribute their good luck to their pinball playing skills. And often they will forget about when they had a bad pinball game if they get lucky during the bet resolution. In addition, it is relatively easy to win over and over and over with the way that the game is set up to allow players to make large wagers to win small amounts. For the average player, the math will catch up with them, but the advantage player will win, and the disadvantage player who is terrible at pinball still has just as good of a chance to win as they would have on any other slot machine legal in that jurisdiction as we always resolve all bets within limits for minimum paybacks in each jurisdiction.

The game, in effect, offers longer game times for larger sized wagers and positive EV gambling experiences. This unlocks an entirely new class of games that transform player skill into a linear score. Vegas2047 is just the first of a new breed of casino game experiences.
