"I've seen lots of folks in the industry try to marry gambling and video game play -- myself included. NanoTech looks to be the first team to have finally succeeded. What the NanoTech team has done is truly compelling. Bravo."

Summary:
The
NanoTech Advantage is a patent pending system that allows Players to use their skill to gain a mathematical advantage in a game of chance.
The keys to this system are that the skill portion and random portion of the game are separate, and that the random resolution is influenced by the Player's score in the skill portion. An above-average score on its own does not guarantee a player will win their bet.
Details:
There are five main variables which work together in the
NanoTech Advantage system:
Bet Amount,
Win Amount,
House Edge,
Skill Factor, and
Score. There is also a
Score Database of all previous games played that will be used to judge the player's skill.
Given the
Bet Amount,
Win Amount, and
House Edge, the probability of winning can be calculated. Given the player's
Score, a percentile can be calculated by comparing it to the
Score Database. An above-average
Score percentile will result in an above-average probability of winning, but only if there have been sufficient below-average scores in the
Database to balance this award.
When it comes to calculating the
Score percentile, the scores in the
Database are weighted by both the
Bet Amount, and the
Skill Factor. An above-average
Score which carries a larger weight (also determined by both
Bet Amount and
Skill Factor) will take more of the available theoretical advantage, while a below-average
Score will contribute more to that available pool.
The bottom-line for the casino operator is that the
NanoTech Advantage ensures that the observed casino hold percentage for all resolved bets on a given machine is always greater than the desired
House Edge in the long run. However, when this is the case that means that there is available theoretical advantage to award to skilled players who achieve above-average
Scores.
